Public Must Be Cautious OJK Has Successfully Revealed Several New Frauds Via Online, Apparently Here’s The Mode

[ad_1] – The Financial Services Authority (OJK) succeeded in dismantling the guise of online fraud with various modes of fraud targeting social media users.

This was disclosed by the Chief Executive of the Behavior Supervisory of Financial Services, Education and Consumer Protection of OJK, Friderica Widyasari Dewi.

According to him, the fraud perpetrators deliberately used social media to find victims.

On various social media the perpetrators offer part-time jobs with a fairly high salary.

After the potential victims are interested and contact the perpetrators, the victim is asked to enter a certain amount of money via transfer into an application.

“Bonuses and salaries can be obtained after the victim completes the task and enters the funds first in the application that has been provided,” said Friderica, Monday, May 8, 2023.

However, after the victims completed the task and submitted funds, the party offering the job did not fulfill its promise and could no longer be contacted.

Still, said Friderica, apart from fraud under the guise of part-time job vacancies, there are also scams with the mode of buying and selling trading signals or fraudulent investments.

This mode is not much different from the Heart or Hope entity which once offered investment under the guise of a donation and was closed in September 2022.

However, what the OJK found this time was a slight difference in mode, namely by offering member get member.

“The way it works is with a member get member offer, then the members are directed to trade with certain contracts and at certain hours,” he explained.

It should be noted that before the month of Ramadan 1444 Hijriah, OJK and the Investment Alert Task Force (SWI) from 12 Ministries and Institutions had anticipated various forms of online fraud.
